TIME OF THE BIRD

Synopsis:

The film is a completely personal self-portrait and a totally experimental form of documentary, which tries to utilise the documentary material of life to narrate an individual story. A vague period after some tension in the life of a girl of 29 years of age, who lives alone in a flat in Tehran. Penetrating the layers of truth by using reality has always been my main passion and I sometimes thought, in a world filled with misunderstandings where people get distant from one another day by day, how is it possible to share the deeper parts of life.so I used my personal life material to depict the suspended moments of life that are closest to the people’s real self, and recorded the times of life that are forgotten before they fly away or drown. To capture and share the emotional experience was possible only in a completely independent, personal, and non-professional atmosphere, and luckily, the small digital camera made that possible by becoming one of the main two characters of the film. I tried to use objects, space, and the energy around us in place of human characters ,so the atmosphere would be more pristine. At the beginning of the film, we realise an important event has happened for the film’s character (myself), and the film goes on with the efforts to cope with that event and putting behind that time. Little by little, the event fades away and how to deal with the aftermath becomes the film’s main theme. Apart from two sequences, the shooting has been done by myself.
