On the Road is Movement 5 in Joi Olympia's 'Hotel Chelsea Song Cycle.' The album is inspired by the traveling stories of historic artists who passed through the Chelsea Hotel, including Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, and Jack Kerouac. Movement 5 and the paired video are a tribute to Jack Kerouac and the writing of his classic novel, 'On the Road.'
