Deaf Women Told Me

Synopsis:

Deaf women, told me...
It’s usually hearing people who produce research, books, movies about the deaf. If given the opportunity, what do deaf people would say about their lives, feelings and experiences?
I am a deaf woman, yet deaf history have not been told to me.
I met deaf women, I asked them to tell me their life story.
My life.
They attended the first and only school before 1973 (closing year) that was welcoming deaf girls in Quebec and New Brunswick. Since 1851, Sisters of Providence directed the Institut des sourdes-muettes de Montréal (Montreal Deaf-Mute Institute).
This generation of deaf women knows each other in Quebec. They share a common history and a common language.
They have told me their stories and now they are telling it to you.
