Same Same But Different

Synopsis:

The island of Malta. Longtime partner of the film industry, servicing incoming productions on its rosy and sunny shores. From Troy to World War Z - heroes have fallen, civilisations been overturned, and romances crafted on this rock of only 400,000 inhabitants.

Continuing this tradition, 'Same Same But Different' portrays – in Hollywood style - the story of one inhabitant who only recently arrived to Malta. Teklit is just one of many “migrants” who have inadvertently landed here after battling ordeals at home and journeying across the sea. Telling his story in cinematic tones, the film questions the representation of migrants and asks how it might look if we treated “them” with the same dignity and respect with which we treat our "own" kind.
